Woofs & Wags from us . . .
Paw-waves and a warm welcome to our website.
My name is Rachel and I just love making dog treats for all of our furry customers but as Mr DD will tell you, I'm not so keen on catering for the humans!
After rather a lot of behind the scenes preparation I officially opened our 'doors' in October 2012 and have not looked back since.
We originally started with biscuit treats and cakes but with so many bakeries offering the same, 7 years in we decided to break away from the crowd with our very own range of carob treats, and so, Doodles Dogfectionery was born.
We are both registered and inspected by Trading Standards as a business operating in the animal feed sector and our registration number is GB208RO1182. Trading Standards ensure we operate within the requirements for this regulation, and that the business as a general complies with all regulations that apply to us as a company. As we use no animal or animal by-products (eggs, honey, cheese etc) in any of our recipes we are not registered, or required to register, with APHA (DEFRA).
All of our products are tested by an independant UKAS accredited Laboratory for content analysis and they are fully labelled, including Composition, Analysis, and a batch/best before date for full traceability - really giving you the peace of mind that you can shop with complete confidence.
We hope you enjoy browsing, and thank you so much for visiting.
Introducing Carob . . .
It happens to all of us .. we get that urge to eat some sweet, delicious chocolate. I am a confessed chocoholic! Whilst we would all love to share that amazing taste with our dogs, we can’t, so, raise you paws for carob, a dog-friendly substitute for chocolate! With all of the same great sweet richness that makes chocolate a delight to eat, carob is made from the bean pods of the carob tree. It is totally 100% natural and dog friendly (containing no theobromine or caffeine) and even gives them some pretty great health benefits too!
Carob contains as much vitamin B1 as asparagus or strawberries, the same amount of niacin as lima beans, lentils, or peas, and more vitamin A than eggplant, asparagus, and beets! Wowzers!! It’s also high in vitamin B2, calcium, magnesium, and iron. So next time you’re sitting on the sofa treating yourself to some tasty chocolate, don’t forget about your canine companion, throw a little Carob his way – you can indulge together!
Our icing/topping used on our decorated dogfectionery is specially formulated for dogs and is coloured with only vegetable based colourings. This contains no artificial sweeteners at all. We use only natural based colourants with no additives (beetroot for pink, Sprirulina for Blue, and cream has no colouring at all). Our products have no meat or animal by products although the topping we use is yoghurt based and also contains albumen. The topping formulated just for dogs by a registered/inspected company right here in the UK.
Please note that the topping does contain skimmed milk powder so our decorated treats are not dairy free.
